Just the other night I woke up shaking
From lives I once lived
Years passing in a glimpse
And, in the center of the lost, there you stood
Catching my eyes, holding hope
Tearing years of disappointment apart
While offering to rescue me with the rope of truth
Entwined in the moment time became Heaven
Where memory enacted no resistance
In holding back the unpleasant
The very second Grace fell from her perch
Within my eyes, inside of hers
I saw how feeling without insight can be worse
Than words unspoken, yet rehearsed
In the shade of the earth’s night shadow
Light regained its virgin meaning
One not of sight, but of believing
And, the cloud of wisdom descended so gently
Upon my eyes, unto a love
The explains away untruth precisely
In the holding of an olive in the beak of a dove
Just the other night I woke up shaking
Entwined in the moment time become Heaven
In the shade of the earth’s night shadow
