Fixated on the gloom and darkened clouds
The lightning and thunder
The answers and thoughts I still wonder
Seems I fell in love with the hole I feel into
Wholly believing I’d be ready for the ladder
Not knowing it wouldn’t come sooner than when it absolutely had to arrive
Here I am now
Ready for a hand
Ready for a hand to reach out from the beautiful light
This piety I’ve foolishly mistaken for progress
As if a stone to push off of
As if a throne to stash a soul upon
But what a hypocritical belief that played out to be
Thinking public perception would change my heart
Thinking a higher regard would place me on some higher kind of ground
Here I am now
Ready for a hand
Ready for a hand to reach out from the beautiful light
So, all I can do now is earnestly hope and sincerely pray
If only I had known all along this cobblestone road
That that was all I ever needed to offer
So, here I am now
Here I am now
Ready to take hold
