We walk in the blowing wind
As the fall leaves catch flight into the winter sky
And by time we open our eyes to see again
Half our lives have passed the lives we’ve lived by
But, we’re still stuck on the pavement
Hoping somehow we’ll make it
And regain our sight and learn how to love
And, God willing, find our wings and fly
Away from the mess we’re surrounded by
Keeping warm in your sweater
I swore I saw you looking at me
And I swore I saw you believing
As your smile curled toward me
I found myself believing
The way only belief can, the moment you realize just why and who
Belief never came alive until someone peered into your eyes, and not through
Do you feel it as strongly as I am now
Warmth filling our bodies now that that season’s gone
The ceasing of winter and the silence of sound
Now that we are the only ones
It feels like love has ever found
Giving peace that rains down
Heavy like a torrent on aired ground
Giving life to the small hopes that hung on
As all the others died thinking hope was gone
These are the only words I can now use
Cause it feels like love when I’m with you
I found myself believing
The way only belief can, the moment I realized just why and who
Belief never came alive until you peered into my eyes, and I knew
That the only words I could use, didn’t need to be spoken
