We Don't Know Anything

Folder:
2007

Just wasting time here

So much to witness, so little time to

So many people dying, so much bad news

But, what is news, if it's not the truth

And, what is truth, unless it's hard as Hell to hear

And, what is Hell, other than weight to bear

And, what is weight, if it's not in the context of social acceptance

And, what is society, other than people too afraid to fall out of line

Can't believe this is where we are

We left so early, yet, we're still so far from the end

How can we pretend we know anything at all

When we don't know anything

When we don't know anything about love

We keep them cooped up on their pills

Too little time, too many difficult kids now

Too busy, too much money to be made by sundown

But, what is sundown, other than a darkened cloud

And, what is dark, when we expect disrespectful children to mind

And, what is disrespect, if it's not perceived by someone in authority

And, what is perceived, if words like 'right' and 'wrong' didn't exist

And, what is 'right' or 'wrong,' other than the norms of a collective body

Can't believe this is where we are

We left so early, yet, we're still so far from the end

How can we pretend we know anything at all

When we don't know anything

When we don't know anything about love

And, we don't know anything about love
