You captured the mood completely
As you stared down at the table top
The moment passed so slowly
That even your whispering took on a deepened tone
And, my anxiety left me inevitably silent
In such an uncomfortable moment
That regret was bound to thrive within
The hesitation we’re now feeling
Well, Honey, you warned me it would come
I chain my heart in desperation
And, question why my confidence failed
Even in the face of all my wisdom
Somehow, I lost the importance faith once held
And, lost the influence it had upon my decisions
And, now like an orphan I fight just to survive
That regret was bound to thrive within
The hesitation I’m now feeling
Well, Honey, this is it blooming before my eyes
Now, every day in early evening
As the summer air cools
I ask God to turn me into a wise man
Amongst the worlds wisest fools
And, then I come to realize how little this life really means
And, how much sweeter these sufferings will make the next world be
I cut the chains to my desperation
And, realize that may be all wisdom means
