I'm writing You so I can find the peace I've never known

Oh, God, does a prayer cast as far as a stone

Or, does it just sink like lead attached to a boat

Oh, God, these waves are growing so tall

It's only a matter of time until they fall down upon me



I know You're somewhere out there

Can You hear my cries

Can You feel my tears burn my eyes

Or, do You care

Or, don't You realize how much it hurts

Just living life



Secretly, there's something I'm scared to say

Do I have a strong enough grip on my faith

Or, does it take a Hell of a lot more than that

Do I need to recalculate where I'm at

So I can find where I've been and where I need to be



Oh, Blanket of God

Come down upon me

So softly

So swiftly

So sweetly
