The Drifters Paper Napkin

Folder:
To God

This mountain is high and steep

But I know You don’t make fences I can’t climb

And the landscape I am presently unable to hold

Is keeping me firmly grounded in my Faith

I know it’s simply just a matter of time

Before I climb and conquer this ladder

Father, sow Your seed in my soul

Keep my eyes intent upon Your goal

So when the tree falls, whether north or south

And when the clouds swell, whether in rain or drought

I pray that my roots run deeper than anything I’ve ever known

There’s been a drifter come into my life

And I know he hasn’t got much time left to stay

I just pray, I might plant a seed that will flourish in him

He hasn’t had many hands extended his way

But somehow he knows something I don’t

And he’s gone before I am aware of what he’s done

There on a paper napkin it read:

“Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness,

And all these things will be given to you as well.”

Father, sow Your seed in my soul

Keep my eyes intent upon Your goal

So when the tree falls, whether north or south

And when the clouds swell, whether in rain or drought

I pray that my roots run deeper than anything I’ve ever known

I will be firmly rooted in my Faith

I will nourish this seed until breath leaves and I am Yours

There on a paper napkin it read:

“If you have faith as small as a mustard seed,

You can say to this mountain

‘Move from here to there’

And it will move.”

A Drifter came into my life

I am aware of what He has done

I fear I have spoken too soon. I have noticed that your poems DO rhyme yet they still are so beautiful. I suppose it is because you allow the rhymes to vary. (Not following a Dr. Suess pattern.) The Holy Spirit is wonderful isn't He? The way he drops these poems in your spirit.
