The skyline’s painted in black and white

Brooklyn Bridge is swaying from side to side

Looks like dusk although it’s dawn

The sun has been drowned by the smoke and fog

Now all I can see are brake lights

There’s too many lives breaking here

Just lay on the gas and let me be free tonight

I don’t want to be just another broken life



NYC is not for me

I wanna see the stars

I need my own space to breathe

In this American Life somehow touted the American Dream

But if this is all that there is

If this is all that it is

It’s not for me



This nine to five isn’t worth the wage

The cost is just too high for the price that I pay

I want to enjoy at least the youth I have left

This cubicle life isn’t the dream in my chest

“I quit,” yea I gotta feeling there’s something more

I rather have a little respect in my pockets

Than a whole lot of green falling all over the floor

“What’s there to respect those kind of men for”



(Throwing away their dreams)
