"Don't take life too seriously"

And take it from someone who has, don't do it

Don't wake up in the morning with your clothes pressed

Abercrombie shirts and a perfectly shaven chest

Honestly, in this life who are we trying to impress



"Wake up and smell the roses"

Just don't blink your eyes when it really matters

You walk the same sidewalk with your briefcase in hand

Bulk up at the gym and lay under light to get a fake tan

Will it really matter how you looked in the very end



I could quote every famous line I know

And I just might do that

But even that won't mean a thing

They're just "stand out" words on paper

They're just "hand out" lines to make us feel better

It's time we find our own definition of life



"A penny saved is a penny earned"

But we spend our whole life trying to save our own image

A castle in the sand is the same as all the wealth we earn

And all these letters and numbers we spend our time to learn

Are the very things that make the black hairs on our head turn



"What you see it what you get"

But isn't it funny how we hide who we're scared to be

Just like a mime in a bubble who's too afraid to ever speak

We're walking through life on a tight rope with our knees

And that seems so ridiculous, at least it seems that way to me
