I found a feeling I’d lost
A year ago when I tossed her from my side
Fear and pride refused my pleading
To open myself wide enough to confide in her for healing
But, this morning I saw a seed
Split the deep ground and sprout
A new kind of love out of me
And, here comes the rain
Gently covering the grain
And, now, love is blooming in a barren field
A flower amongst needles
My heart knew only light
But, could not recognize without shadow
The parched meadow inside
Until the delicate petals up-sprung from the shallows
Of thirst quenched ground
And, allowed knowledge to unfold
A new kind of love within me
This morning felt so out of character
So out of place even Grace felt unfamiliar
And, now that dead knows desire
The darkness that once grappled must cower to the light
And, here comes the rain
Gently covering the grain
And, now, love is blooming in the barren field
As a flower uproots the needles
And, sews a new kind of love into the field
