This hot August night

I lay in this ditch and look toward the sky

And I make a wish for someone on the Milky Way

Cause this life's just not worth livin' alone

I'm tired of running into the unknown

Just to stumble into another day alone



Hey, take a guess

I love the way you break me

I love that through the way you kiss

You silently tell me that you need me

And when we lie quietly you make me believe

I'm holding the brightest star in the sky



And the fan blades are spinning

The air is cold and the light is reflecting

Why's it seem everything runs nowhere too fast

Turn it upside down and watch the last grain fall

Just too far out of reach to grab your hand

We give it all away 'til all we remember is what we had
