I know you called me here
To this place of consecration
For this prolonged duration
To restore what was purloined
My soul’s cry now, an eternal reverberation
Come back to me, children that were lost
Come back my treasures that were accost
Return to me all hopes forgotten
to living memory,
live again, breath again, begin again
I know you called me here
my answer wails conformation
to your will and desire for this generation
Turning their hearts back from enmity
A show down of an unholy confrontation
May they bow their knees in slain humility
May they say yes to your gift of regeneration
I am your handmaid, your servant in maturation
But within me my flesh cries
It clenches a fist as it dies
It does not want to conform to
This staunch dedication
It writhes and wanes to be released
I am in a war of one
One so divided is a contradiction
How can I overcome this decimation?
The focus of this call
Is what withholds me from the fall
The passion for lost souls
Is what nails me to this post
My desire to be whole
Is what hails me to the upmost
Yet I moan in my spirit
As I birth a nation
The visions you have given me
Your will as seeds blooming
Dominate me, I am dying . . .
To myself
