Age as inevitable as time and seasons
Will change will come
No controls have we
As the unavoidable we see
Coming to us fast forward
We oft run in showered attempts
To slow the process
But our maturing is often on recess
The thing we can truly control and change
Is often left in the back burner un-flamed
To grow up
To show up on time
To grow up
To pay bills on time
To grow up
Take responsibility
For your imprudence
Not vicariously blaming frailty
Or others for your indecency
One day the outer man met the inner man
Though they came into this world together
The outer man no longer recognized
the inner for they no longer resembled
the outer had aged, with gray and shriveled with wrinkles
the inner was yet still a child
realizing that he was way behind the inner man began to grow up
he began to take responsibility for his own actions
he began to learn and to apply knowledge
but he began to feel the wear and tear of the outer man who could no longer sustain the demands of the inner child trying to grow up, in a hurry.
