A Thought On Love

Love, love, oooh wheee

What is it to me

Like an open freeway

To and fro

We flow

No toll, no cost

Just free

A home to the lost

The loveless

We stride and glide

Together, side by side

No stress

Love, love, to be

Accepted, respected

Never rejected

No walls

No windows no doors

No restrictions

A haven of rest

To the weary

Bowed down and dreary

Love always has room

Come in, one so contrary

I met love

I did not expect love

For I did not recognize love

For it came in disguise

Wrong height, wrong age,

Wrong size

Love and I did not see

Eye to eye

Love tried to show me

But I could not see

How it could- be

But not to me

So I rejected love

I imprisoned love

For I imprisoned myself

Love and pride

When they collide

They will not agree

For pride robs us

of what could be

Because pride looks at

What it sees outwardly?

Though love yearns inwardly
