I Saw Her

I saw her face in the grip of his fist

I saw the words faint at the door of her lips

I saw her eyes selling suffocated cries

She learned how to smile through despairing sighs

I heard the thunderous clap, to her delicate face

I –heard- it

The intimidating grip to her waist

The- you better not expose me and act right in this place

The unspoken rule

I- saw- it

The heart beats crashing through her chest

Wondering if she did it, said it, made it right

Maybe then he would be nice tonight

I- felt -it

He is on the prowl once again

The act to his show has opened

Act one is his charm

Act two is his swarm

To your mind

With words tender and kind

Drowning out all reason

Rendering you blind

So you walk down the isle

All dressed up in style

To sign your life away

He has conquered his prey

But the scenes will end once

By then too late

You now unwillingly participate

In the secret under cover life

The moppet puppet wife

His hand up your back

Pulling your strings

Bruising your rack

Be careful

Beware

Of his deceitful stare

Great decisions should be

Bathed in prayer

Don’t let your longing desire

Cause you to foolishly walk into the fire.
