Ode to Hip-Hop

I lived life without hesitation

It brought me under incarceration

Not fit for the world’s population

Now I wait for a fucking visitation

Patience, I never had a hand on

Betrayed and abandoned

Stranded on a sand lawn

Fenced in night and dawn

Gone, from who I know

A criminal trooper on my own

Considered an intruder in my home

Violent like Jupiter’s red zone

I see these people grieve and believe in inquiry

I hear our people rap and reiterate our quandary

There’s more than being drug lords with whores as a legacy

Life is more than wasting paper on cars and jewelry

I took for granted a chance for education

I traded it for a prisoners vacation

Working for a modern day slave syndication

This is no place for humans if its any indication

We need to get smart, take part in communities

Quit the ignorance, have forgiveness, form unities

Have school, work hard, we don’t all have social immunities

If we put our mind to it we have infinite opportunities

So now I try to live life with a lot of positivity

I learned we only go no where with negativity

Have an opened mind with some versatility

Because our thinking reflects on our own ability

I see these people grieve and believe in inquiry

I hear our people rap and reiterate our quandary

There’s more than being drug lords with whores as a legacy

Life is more than wasting paper on cars and jewelry
