“The Rose”
The Rose adds color to our lives.
Soft and warm in droves of five.
Reminding us of, Summer’s breeze!
Picnics by a big green sea.
The time we spend, out in the cold!
Big rooms filled, with young and old.
One Rose fresh from the heart,
center table around the cards.
The Rose I give you from the street,
bleeding fingers and pounding feet.
The Rose I mention stands alone,
that one there, by the phone!
