I have been witness
to the often false calling
of death,
Or his test
of chance
timing
destiny
What ever one calls such thing
I have been at the right place
at the exactly right moment
to beg for, to try
to fight for, a life
I have been lucky
I've saved the life
of somebody so close to me
My mother is still alive
conscious,
beautiful, and endearing
as she's always been
she's always been there for me
I can attest
What is worth fighting
I have been that soul
unfortunate enough to heed such a call
Death, no, not just yet.
You stole my world
I stole her back
I am no fool
I know how certain your grasp
You only allowed this
just one more chance
to hold,
to kiss,
to cherish
the moments left.
So, I am in your debt.
