Check the Method

"Check the method, not the madness"

(yes sometimes the method leads to the madness, but so what!)

I don't know anything about Religion however I will put just about any prayer, practice or ritual of a spiritual nature, into my holy folder for further investigation, just to see if it works (perhaps my time spent testing software systems is actually put to practical use). For whatever reason, a few have stuck to me like glue - some of the Buddhistic stuff is VERY sticky (like a Venus Flytrap) and I can for a fact state that the I Ching, given scholarly dedication, will absolutely yield its wisdom at exactly the moment it is needed, even going so far as to offer up a quote, on the immediate, which will correct one's perception of reality. Also the Our Fathers & Hail Marys will stay with you for Life (even if you haven't set foot in a church in 40 years - Testify!)

I once saw a documentary on the increase of the Muslim population in Dearborn, Michigan and the opposition they met with as they went about establishing their rites & customs (as we all are wont to do), one of which is broadcasting the Adhan throughout the neighborhood 5 times a day. Personally I happen to find the muezzin's call exquisitely dizzying and the routine of  Stop-everything-and-drop-to-your-knees to be quite the epitome of devotion, especially for householders, merchants & folks of affairs but one local woman interviewed censured with "I don't want my kids to hear that!" Why lady? Because deep down inside you know the call is real and you're having doubts about the methodologies you've dispensed on your children to help them achieve Communion with God - Facebook? Amazon? Candy Crush?

Politics aside, at the heart of Religion are the prayers, practices & rituals that we leave in our wake that might provide aid & comfort to others as it has for us
