Sweet child, welcome to what we call life.
Those innocent eyes are wide with wonder,
Those empty leaves of your mind wander,
Those beats are still free from the cares of life.
Little one, rush not to reach your goals.
In your bright eyes repose unlit coals,
In your mind is a clock pushing time,
In your pure heart are rhythms that rhyme.
Young one, life is nothing like your games.
Your eyes are alight with leaping flames,
Your mind preys on the weak like vultures,
Your new heart dances for adventure.
Young in love, your whole world is swirling.
How your eyes glow as they sight your love!
How your mind reeled from affection,
How fast the dance your heart is twirling.
Young disillusioned, hush now your crying.
There in your sad eyes, fires are dying.
There in your mind, is wisdom starting,
There lies in your still heart, some beating.
Young inspired, please live every moment.
In your eyes are pools of excitement,
In your mind are visions for a future.
In your heart are wild beats of your dreams.
One broken youth, you authored your life.
Deep in your eyes, innocence was spoiled.
Deep in your mind, fictions are revealed.
Deep in your heart are slowed beats for life.
Dear middle aged, your life is not done.
Let complacency in your eyes be gone.
In your mind are chapters of trials won.
Yet, are those traces of pain in your heart?
Old but once young, life for you hasn't stilled.
Those wizened eyes withered false illusions,
Those once blank reaches of your mind are filled,
Those beats are remains of your heart's passions.
Men, women, young, and old: live each life phase.
Your eyes see each stage of life unfolding,
Your mind writes a story in every phase,
Your heart dances all tunes in its holding.
Life, in every phase, is about learning.
The eyes learn to reflect our unconscious,
The mind gain wisdom from experience,
But the heart sometimes refuses to learn.
