God sent me down to earth one day
He tried to make me lead the way
But I was young and full of life
I had no worries. I had no strife
He told me that he needed me
To help his wondering people see
The well worn path on which to walk
But I never even heard him talk.
The days, and months and years flew by
Like robins and ravens in the sky
A dream awoke me from my sleep
The dream was sad so I did weep.
People told me of their fears,
They told me of there lost careers.
They told me that there was a way,
To stop another unhappy day.
But I must be the one to act
God proclaimed, it was a fact.
I had to seek the people who,
Would always be ignored by you.
How could I expect to save
all the people form the wave
That threatens to destroy their hope?
They mustn't give, They must learn to cope.
For I can heal and learn to deal
With how all of God’s people feel
But first MY problems I must attend
And all my soul I'll strive to mend.
And if my life by God is blest
I'll find some way to help the rest.
