IN MEMORY OF MY FRIEND

A million times I've missed you,

A million times I've cried;

If my love could have saved you,

You never would have died.

Things I feel most deeply, are the hardest to say;

My dear friend, I loved you in a special way.

I often sit and think of you,

And think of how you died,

To think I couldn't say goodbye before you closed your eyes.

No one knows of my lonliness,

No one sees me weeping,

All the tears from my aching heart

While others are sleeping.

If I had but one lifetime wish,

A wish that could come true,

I'd pray to God for those yesteryears and you.

I know you fought a battle;

You were tired and needed rest,

And I'm proud 'cause I know

"God only takes the best."

God needed an angel in Heaven above,

So He took you "home",

To be a star to watch over the ones you love.

Oh, what a beautiful reunion,

I can see it with my eyes...

No more pain, tears or suffering,

Just Home safely in the Heavenly sky.
