When life seems like nothing but chores and debt,
And dreams that haven't come true as of yet,
I find a welcome change of scene,
With the coming of February 14.
A lopsided heart stuck with paper lace,
Is thrust at me as I look at my child's smiling face,
Looking at me, hoping I'll take the time
To stop and admire her valentine.
Though our chores won't end and winter's far from over,
I get the feeling that I'm knee-deep in clover
As I hug my child and she hugs me too,
I know tht some of my dreams have already come true.
For she is my child and as she holds her heart,
I know deep in my heart that she and I will never part.
