What? Who? Where?

I once said you can find god in the strangest places.
But I've noticed no matter how hard I look, god has been nowhere to be seen lately.
Now, I don't even know what god is.
As of now it's a word, seeming to lose all meaning in repetition.
Is god an ideal?
Something you can feel?
An idea?
To convince you to steer clear of the “evils” organized religions have taught us to fear?

All I want is the truth,
plain and simple.
And I'm not trying to start a fight,
but don't give me an answer from a book you didn't write.

I want to find the source,
whether it be a divine force,
or right in front of my face.
I'm willing to pursue god in this chase.
And if finding my heaven means being cast into your hell,
I don't care, so find someone else to tell.

...Now I begin my search for god,
Or should I say, for the truth?
Whatever it may be,
whoever it may be,
wherever it may be.
All I ask is that you don't condemn me.
