Darkness is upon us, running through the air

Lights from the windows people just don’t care

The world has never been so dark, a deep and sinful place

And through it all one shines, yes I can see his face





God of glory, god of love

Shine upon us now

For you died to take our sin

And we all know how





You were laid upon the cross, with nails holding you in

A crown of thorns upon your head, you died for our sin

My heart is heavy with your love, my knees are bent in praise

And I will never forget why you died, or any of your ways





So take me in your arms

Lead me through the door

My heart belongs to you

I will stray no more
