Brother

Folder:
Family

I’m writing this to tell you,

I can’t have you in my life.

Throughout the years,

All you have ever brought me is strife.

I have always protected you,

Wanted you to be happy.

But whenever I needed you,

A friend is something you never could be.

All you ever care about is you,

What about sisters?

You have always treated us,

Like an annoying blister.

Sometimes I really hate you,

And you don’t even care.

The way you make me feel,

It really isn’t fair.

How can you ask me to be there,

When everything I give you throw away?

I needed your support,

But you make me feel like I’m always in the way.

You talk about responsibility,

And the things I need to do.

But when it comes down to it,

Money is the only thing that is important to you.

The only family you

You care for.

Is the man you call Dad,

A man who wanted nothing to do with you before.

So this is the end,

I’m done fighting with you.

You want to know if I hate you?

Right now yes, I do.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Poem I wrote when I was really upset at my brother. We have never really gotten along but this day was the last straw when he told me he would dance on my grave when I die.
