A thousand words

A thousand lies

A thousand days

To clear my mind

You came in and killed it all

Then smeared my blood upon the wall

You'd beat me down

Then pick me up

Just to start it all again

Then I asked why we pretend

To get along throughout the day

When all I do is have to pay

Pay with hurt

Pay with pain

Pay with living life this way

A thousand words

A thousand tries

A thousand ways

To apologize

You tried so hard

But it's too late

You screamed NO

Then asked why I hate

No time for answers

The time has come

So close your eyes

Your days are done

The barrel fixed upon your eyes

No longer do I hear your cries

As silence falls upon the night

I feel I've put things in the right

It took a thousand days to tear us apart

But just one night to heal my heart
