I remember days back then
Life was so much simpler
I’d go to school, have some fun
Never felt bad

Those days back when I was young
They seem so far away now
I can’t seem to make my way back
They’ve escaped me every day

I remember when I was just twelve
The world seemed as though it were mine for
I remember the joy that we brought each other then
What has happened to us now?

When we were just kids
We used to be able to put it all aside
Not competing, just having fun
When did it become something else?

I need to find my way back to that time
I wish I could find it once more
I so want to be able to have what we had before
When did we close that door?
I remember our youth
We ran around carefree
I need to get back to what we had
The escape from reality that once was ours

We went to school
Classes were designed for us
We’d see each other every single day
Why can’t that still be how life still is?

I wish that somehow we’d return to the past
We could get over what happened back then
No more fighting
No more pain
