A number that we try to avoid
It can make us feel as though we are entering a surreal void
This is a normal stage of life
Yet it still causes us great strife
THis is of course the number forty
The number that we all dread to see
This is a time we are told we're over the hill
And a time when some begin to drink tea
As the human within us begins this new journey
Things are learned and new life begins within us
We start to look at the bigger picture of life
And see that the one we have it one that is full of activity
