"Entitlement"
Praying so much that you don't know you're kneeling
Explaining the emotion but you don't know the feeling
Lying so much that you can't stop the bleeding
The monsters are hungry and you can't stop the feeding
The herd is on the move in their migrating fashion
You can only wish to break the shephers distraction
Staring into a thousand reflections
Fearful of punishment for not following directions
The emptiness drains you as you search for your purpose
Inevitability seeks you and anguish floats to the surface
The clock ticks away the time to look for solutions
Interrupted thoughts keep you from coming to conclusions
Your heart skipped a beat but you haven't lost your pace
You're off to the slaughter and you think it's a race
Headed to wonderland but it's really a trap
Made to believe paradise is this pile of crap
Your loyalty failed you but you still follow the lead
Walking right past the signs you're not allowed to read
An optimistic voice says the journey could be the lie
There's no reason to believe that if you stop you will die
Afraid to stry because the rest may keep going
You don't want to be alone in a state of not knowing
The prospect of change seems safe in the pack
Maybe it will happen if you ever make it back
No one ever told you that you'll get out alive
They never said it's easy or promised you'll arrive
You've been blind so long you forgot the destination
The crowd grows tired and you can sense their aggravation
Hoping and hoping that you'll all soon be fed
As you approach the fire to which you've been led
