I've come to a perplexing intersection
Rather than a four-way stop sign,
I am the only driver hindered by the serious red octagon.
Obeying the law and watching traffic whiz by,
I am at the mercy of the oncoming vehicles
Waiting on everyone else's terms.
As they keep coming from all directions,
I realize that I must be assertive.
I must take control.
As I push down on the accelerator-
as I cut off the cop car -
I grin, elated with liberation.
Go ahead, officer - make my day.
This will be the best damn ticket I've ever gotten.
