I'll stand frustrated and still
Just like a tree
Waiting for you
To fly back to me
Branches shaking from violent winds
Coming in gusts
But these roots will hang on
As long as they must
The rain of the monsoon
Drowning this tree
And I can't escape the storm
Going on inside of me
Leaves rustling in the calm breeze
On a warm spring day
The sun radiating life
In its every ray
April showers nourishing
Roots underground
Encouraging growth
As the water soaks down
I'll stand peaceful and still
Just like a tree
Not waiting for anything
To fly back to me.
