Walking along the twisting path, stumbling
My eyes are unable to advise
Because the ground has become comprised
of darting, multicolored beams of light.
Looking for guidance from the full moon
The light to aid my sight
Is refracted by the night
And hopelessly distorted.
Even the treetops have gone
Visibility has changed and rearranged
My friends, the trees, are now estranged
A sparkling web above me obstructs my vision.
Reaching up to pull it down
My hand grasps air, nothing there
I see it, I swear!
Unable to trust my senses.
The steady beat once soothed my mind
Now it hits my ears, echoing my fears
How the hell did I end up here?
It was something I did long ago.
Sitting on the ground, head in hands
Overcome with fright, eyes shut tight
But it doesn't succeed in extinguishing sight
I cannot escape the visions.
I'll never get back to where I once was
It's much too late, I sit and wait
I've never been one to believe in fate
I guess we'll see what happens.
