It is then that we realize
We carry, by choice,
The weight of all we are and have been
Though many of us have forgotten
We can choose to release
And bear no burden, yet keep everything
In the eternal cycle of the waterfall
Carrying with us the awareness
How it feels to lie upon a cool rock
The sound of rushing water in no hurry
The taste of pure crystal clarity
Smelling the natural earth
How all the noise suddenly harmonizes
into an orchestra,
Accompaniment for a flawless performance
The water glides
Under an observing spider’s intricate web
Around a clinging, steadfast snail
Into a dark tunnel,
Emerging once again into a pool of light
I am as the snake,
Absorbing the sun’s energy through the earth
Solitary, still, searching
pondering
This is it!
And the sun is blinding
And the water deafening
And I can smell the trees and the moss
Repeating the mantra
Rapture.
An overwhelming sense of knowing
Still on this plane, but not tethered to it
Floating through and
Carrying nothing.
