Porcelain Doll

Dress me like a baby doll

My hair pined up in curls

My eyes a shield, a wall

You will never know my true being



Yes, make it so I can’t breathe

Tie that bonnet up tighter

Now I can never leave

Shelved in your glass case



I will say what you want me to

I will be your puppet

Your bidding alone will I do

But please, don’t ever break me



I will always be by your side

Don’t make me wear those chains

Now I’ll break, I’ll cry

Dropped, this porcelain doll

Is shattered
