But, Who Really Knows How it Goes?

Folder:
Him

I lie in the darkness, awaiting your return.
My skin feels like dew, its sole memory of you.
And I'm alright, I'm with you tonight.
But, who really knows how it goes?

We are slipping together, into the future.
Heartbeats all melt into, swells in the ocean.
And its so right, feelings grip tighter.
But, who really knows how it goes?

I see your eyes, reflecting the candlelight.
Tears on my cheeks, possessed by both you and I.
And we feel light, etherial, and high.
But, who really knows how it goes?

We always set the air steaming, between us.
Just by tripping your gaze, onto mine.
And we danced tonight, for the last time.
But, who really knows how it goes?

I walked away from you, with nothing but pride.
Though I smiled so quietly, inside I died.
And I lied tonight, when I wished you a good life.
But, who really knows how it goes?

Author's Notes/Comments:

This was about the natural momentum that relationships have.

One small change in choices by either partner can alter the momentum,

and therefor alter the relationship.
