By Taylor Springs
She tries to hold her breath
But everybody breathes
She tries to make them stay
But everybody leaves
Everything’s so dark
And the walls are caving in
She tries and tries to reconsider
But her time is wearing thin
She imagines where she’s going
All the places that she’s been
She tries to make them understand
She tries to let them in
Frustration and temptation
And soon, she’ll be giving in
Because when everybody’s losing, nobody can win
A pull of the trigger, a flick of the wrist
She doesn’t care where she’s headed
Because anywhere
Is better than this
