Guard my heart Lord Jesus, and my steps throughout the day,

With all this darkness near us, in your presence I need to stay.

Today allow your Light to shine, in my life, so pure and bright,

So your light becomes mine, throughout my day and my night.



From Christ’s light within my life, I want all other people to see,

My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, not the old man found in me.

Friend this will only happen when, I live my life in honor of Him,

Now that I have been Born Again, I avoid my former life of sin.



Where there was such darkness, a new light to me Christ gives,

Leading me with righteousness, from my heart, where He lives.

By the light He shines upon me, Christ sets all my world higher,

Moving my heart to Eternity, Christ changes every single desire.



Living higher than I’ve ever been, and even higher yet still to go,

As He leads me above all sin, to that place His Light will show.

To that place, which on my own, I could never humanly achieve,

To His Heavenly Glorious Throne, by His power, when I believe.



All the light that shines in my heart, is from The Lord up above,

And His Light shall not depart, as Christ fills me with His Love,

Now this light that He gives to me, I want to shine for everyone,

So they too can come to see, they need the light of God’s Son.
