Days Come and Go

Folder:
The Word of God

As these days come and go, the years slip by, this we know,

And all the days that we see, then slip fast away into history.

The present becomes the past, leaving only memories to last,

But some facets of present days, will carry on in future ways,

This in the future that will be; times ahead that we cannot see.

The choices we make presently, can alter our earthly destiny.

Altering the direction of our life, at times inviting undue strife.

Present strife may fade away, although consequences stay.

Our future can be near or far, despite our age or who we are,

Ahead it could be short or long, whether living right or wrong.

The present could be very short, making a future of no report,

The present could be very full, as you live by the golden rule,

A future ahead for you and me, is the endless one of eternity,

It’s where all likeness ends, depending on a choice my friend.

One’s eternal life full of gain; the other death with eternal pain.

It all depends in this present life, if you accept or reject Christ,

A life in Christ will wash away, all sadness of the present day,

But eternal death revisits all pain, forever in the eternal flames,

A faithless past won’t negate, a future beyond the pearly gate,

But present rejection in history, assures one darkened eternity.
