Eloquent or Meek

Friend I may not be eloquent, neither was Paul whom God had sent,

To bring the message of salvation, to each and every Gentile Nation.

As Paul was timid and was meek, when face to face he would speak,

But what the apostle did convey, is the same message we see today,

The message today that we proclaim, in the power of Christ’s Name.

First he opposed the Author of life, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As Saul, he was opposed to The Way, killing the believers of his day.

The new Way professed by those, who truly believed that Christ rose,

That Christ had risen in victory, over death and sin on Mount Calvary.

Saul had but one desire friend, which was to bring the Way to an end.

Saul a Pharisee of Pharisees, at Damascus was brought to his knees,

When blinded by a powerful light, he was given a new heart and sight.

Now Paul, still a Jew in every right, is changed by The Lord overnight,

Up close and personal he got to see, Jesus Christ the Lord of Eternity.

Once Paul embraced Christ’s Name, his life for God was not the same.

No longer living for his own desire, for Christ in his heart placed a fire.

Paul would soon emulate Jesus Christ, the Lord and Master of his life.

Paul wasn’t impressive in man’s sight, but filled with The Spirit’s might,

My friend eloquence has no place, when it overshadows God’s Grace,

God after all chose to speak, through men like Paul, humble and meek.
