I THINK I'LL SMILE
(T. Beechey)
The sun is out, snow's starting to melt
There is no doubt that I haven't felt
This rosy and pink in quite a while
You know what I think? I think I'll smile
The wind is calm, the temperature's fine
I'll slap your palm if you'll slap mine
We'll share a drink from across the miles
You know what I think? I think I'll smile
Let's sing and dance, jump and run
Since we have the chance, let's get it done!
Let's shout and yell at the top of our voice
Since we're feeling well, then let's rejoice!
The paths we made for us to pass
Are now showing a blade or two of grass
Tears of joy I blink, no more in denial
You know what I think? I think I'll smile
I'm so filled with love on this lovely day
I'm putting my gloves and scarves away
I'll give life a wink and celebrate in style
You know what I think? I think I'll smile
Smell that air, it's so fresh and clean
I don't have a care, not a bone is mean
There's hardly a cloud up in the sky
That's why I vowed to give it a try
I'm not going to waste these precious hours
I can almost taste the dew on the flowers
So, before time sinks the new sundial
You know what I think? I think I'll smile
And the weatherman, he just came on the set
Saying tomorrow will be better yet
So, the snow'll still shrink then the birds will re-file
And you know what I think...yeah, I think I'll smile
