SOMEWHERE BETWEEN
(T. Beechey)
Somewhere between here and there is the fear we share and connot hide
It's deep inside each one of us and justifies our foolish pride
Somewhere between now and then is the hour when we're needed most
And we're supposed to sanctify the reason why our love's a ghost
Somewhere between yes and no are confessions owed to those entrapped
Through happenstance and consequence, the evidence to blame was scrapped
Somewhere between right and wrong are delights so long overdue
But who will tell the untold tale? And should I fail, how about you?
We always land somewhere between
The meaning and the afterthought
And all we've got is all we've lost
Until we've crossed those lines that dot
Somewhere between give and take, we live mistakes that we create
As we await a second chance to dance once more in the hands of fate
Somewhere between win and lose are the sins we choose to ignore
And for it all we receive a disbeliever's call to war
Somewhere between borrow and lend are tomorrows that ended yesterday
There's nothing to say and, if we could, nobody would hear anyway
Somewhere between you and I are the reasons why we're who we are
Though we bear the scars which never heal, we each reveal our shining star
We always land somewhere between
The screening of an afterlife
And the falling knife which disregards
The pardons of a pleading wife
Somewhere between laugh and cry, we have to try to perservere
Through the sphere of a setting sun as, one by one, we disappear
