RIDING AWAY ON A CAROUSEL
(T. Beechey)
Riding away on a carousel, who can tell how far I'll go?
High and low and in between, through fields of green and amber glow
Oh,won't you come and ride with me so we can see what lies beyond?
Over the pond and under the stars, this world is ours with a wave of a wand
Riding away on a carousel, who can tell how far he'll go?
To and fro, hither and yon --- look at me,I'm gone to where I don't know
Just grab the reins and hold on tight with all your might and close your eyes
The skies have now become our express and it's anyone's guess where destiny lies
Riding away on a carousel, who can tell how far she'll go?
Above and below, over and through --- there's no telling who will say hello
Perhaps a king or maybe a knight,an angel in flight or a maiden fair
All under where the rainbows light, just within sight of here and there
Riding away on a carousel, who can tell how far you'll go?
Upon the flow of an echoed wind...where shall we begin our picture show?
Perhaps to a distant magical land of candy lanes and gumdrop trees
Or upon the seas of licorice,I think I'll kiss my name on the breeze
Riding away on a carousel, who can tell how far we'll go?
Tomorrow is only a state of mind as we rewind life's cinema
Back to the days of come-what-may,we can stay forevermore
Just past the door and around the bend,a never-ending Shangri-La
