CONCEPTS IN DECEPTION
(T. Beechey)
An image is cast in a faded reflection toward the misdirection of biased sight
Where light creates only a shadow even though the glow is at its height
A silohuette forms on the horizon in unclouded skies endlessly
Yet partial stares stain what's shown and what's unknown is a mystery
Sometimes you must look again
Especially when what's seen is blurred
And all you've heard resemble the lies
From the ears and eyes of the absurd
The hollowed souls of those in judgment whose sole intent is to malign
Leave undefined all what matters and pick at the tatters left behind
The truth and what is important is sorted with thoughtless indiscretion
But no one questions their undoing, the strewing's all part of their procession
Sometimes you need a second look
In case you mistook your initial view
How can you say what is real
If all that revealed is a distant few?
To rectify a broken dream,to sew the seam of a shattered hope
To scale the slope of obstacles placed in the faces just beyond the rope
To repair the bonds that were severed,to never allow oneself to retreat
Is a feat that's seldom ever mustered --- please justify your conceit!
I'd like to know how they are able to label something they've never seen
In between their times of unmasking,I'd like to ask what all of it means
I'm sure they'll never provide an answer, they'll dance upon the words you speak
And instead seek to find another victim and classify him with merely a peek
Sometimes you just have to look twice
The price you pay for only a glance
Is a chance to fully understand
All you can from all that you can't
Where is the truth in negativity? How can one be so misinformed?
Their storms have changed tranquil settings into regrettings beyond the norm
With a single gasp they have altered, eternally faltered a precious gift
By sifting through all the promise and dramatizing instead the rift
Sometimes it takes another unveiling
When the first fails to satisfy
And if you rely on that perspective
Your entire objective becomes a lie
