HATE AND LOVE
(T. Beechey)
A lie can be truth, golden age can hide youth
The words I write,I forget the meanings of
But what remains, even before your first tooth
Is that hate so often mirrors love
A glance can be mistaken for a stare
While what's beneath may appear as up above
Helping hands mislead, giving pain not care
And hate so often mirrors love
Sometimes a whisper's like a scream
And a gentle touch,it resembles a shove
Reality can be confused with a dream
And hate so often mirrors love.
There are times "yes" and "no" intertwine
And an iron fist can mask a hand in glove...
But all the world's laughter can't change these tears of mine
Cause hate so often mirrors love
