ARMAGEDDON'S AFTERMATH
(T. Beechey)
Who'll tell the concluding moments
When all comes to an end?
As we drift out of existence
Upon whom shall the future depend?
Those who've wondered for so long
Those who've pondered what went wrong
For whatever reason we couldn't belong...
Whose song will lift the veil?
Who'll write the final chapter
When all is said and done?
Upon the day of rapture
Who shall tell everyone?
As the world repopulates
And those that follow do await
To learn something about our fate...
Who shall relate the tale?
As cities crumble to the sea
Tumbling through infinity
Divinity turns a spiteful cheek
As both meek and strong strive to seek
One by one,each cable snaps
As,through the gaps,all does collapse
Both within and without
Each shout resembles a mournful pout
Who'll report upon that last day
As the sun takes a final bow
As civilizations pass away?
...they'll find some way somehow
Through inscriptions on a crumbled wall
Scrawled descriptions of the rise and fall ---
Or perhaps there's one to survive it all
And they'll call his name to hail
