DESPERATION
(T. Beechey)
What can I give that I've already gave?
I've nothing to save for even my own
Had I known you desired,I'd have more
But I can't ignore I'm now time's slave
All is decided without my consent
Everything that I meant means nothing at all
Should I stumble and fall,I'm left to lie
Till someone comes by,as there's no one to call
I'm alone and opposed by whatever chooses
The bruises within shall never heal
This can't be real but, alas,it's true
What must I do to break the seal?
My heart is broken,my spirit shattered
I'm battered and weary, perhaps they are right
The fight is undeniably one-sided
So I've decided to turn out the light
Watch as it flickers, ever so slowly
Down to a lowly glimmer that's grayed
Till the shades aren't needed to hide the brightness
Cause the night has prevailed...see it fade
