Morning in Pangasinan
As the dawn breaks and the cockerel crows
And the sun cast shadows on the ground
The trees and flowers, their colours glow
The warmth of the tropical heat is all around.
Bags of palay carried to the highway
Spread afar to catch the sun’s rays
Kids strolling through the school gateway
All of them with happy smiling faces
Tricycles and Jeepneys head for the west
Street venders singing out their wares
Office workers smartly dressed
All the people go about their affairs
This is morning in Pangasinan
Day in day out until the rains break

Pangasinan is wide awake.
