He was called to the basement where his family always stayed
and he shouted at them, “No, not today. Today I’ll be brave!”
Then he woke up with the cold surrounding him and nothing to comfort his heart. “Dad, where are you?” He looked to the right and then to the left. He saw nothing, but a rat on his great grandfather’s writing desk. He jumped back for a moment and hid under his blanket then thought, “No, not today. Today I’ll be brave!” Then he woke up from the sound of someone screaming. “He’s not crazy!” He heard his mother say from the dark rotting ceiling. He grabbed some earplugs, while his heart was still racing. He thought, “Nothing is worse than these ghosts that I’m facing!” So, he grabbed the gun tucked away in the safe and with one last phrase said this with a tear coming down his face, “No, not today. Today I’ll be brave!”… and he never woke up.
