There’s a darkness creeping over my shoulder,
Pure terror sets into my gut,
This darkness, ever closer
Sends shivers down my spine
I’m so paranoid, and the darkness just laughs
I know it’s there, but every time
I turn around it disappears.
Knowing of its presence I shudder at the thought
I feel it’s breath upon my neck
And I’m frozen in place.
Through the corner of my eye I see,
The darkness advances slowly,
But then like that it’s there!
It whispers in my ear a taunting threat,
And I hear its teeth clack
As it speaks each word.
Every bit of love and hope vanish in an instant,
The darkness has won another soul,
And a tear falls from my eye.
I breath in the darkness
Am overwhelmed with so much sorrow.
My eyes lose their green hue
And glaze over in black.
My heart stops its beating and my skin goes cold;
Everything is gone from my thoughts,
And memories are forgotten.
All that is left
Is the bitter and cruel darkness.
